Before they read,
before they write,
they learn to feel safe.

The Foundation Years at Khaitan Public School are a joyful, play-based beginning — built on the NEP and NCF, designed around how young minds actually grow. Curiosity leads. Learning follows.

A quiet question every parent asks

Will my child be loved here
when I am not in the room?

It is the question behind every campus tour. The one parents do not always say out loud. At Khaitan, we have built our Foundation Years around answering it — not with brochures, but with how every classroom feels, how every educator listens, and how every child is welcomed by name.

Inside a KPS Foundation Classroom

A day designed around how
little hearts learn.

Not a packed schedule. A gentle rhythm — where every moment has a purpose, and every child has a place.

Circle Time

Children gather in a soft circle. The day begins with shared stories, gentle conversation, and a moment of arrival — emotionally, before academically.

Balanced Literacy

Through read-alouds, shared reading, and joyful word play, children learn to think deeply, speak clearly, and fall in love with language.

Hands-On Numeracy

Numbers come alive through everyday objects. Children count, sort, compare, and measure — building real understanding, not memorisation.

Creativo Studio

A Reggio and Montessori-inspired studio where curiosity meets craftsmanship — and every child turns ‘I wonder’ into ‘I can’.

Performing & Visual Arts

Music, movement, drama, drawing, painting. Children find their voice through every medium — and discover that creativity is about expression, not perfection.

Library Time

Over 4,000 books across genres. A world of stories where reading is not a task — it is a habit children carry for life.

What keeps you up at night — and what we do about it

Your concerns are valid.
Our answers are everyday
actions.

Parent Worry

My child cries every morning. School should not feel like punishment.

At Khaitan

We start every day with Circle Time — a warm, unhurried welcome. Children are greeted by name, by an educator who knows what made them laugh yesterday.

Parent Worry

What if my child is too shy to speak up?

At Khaitan

Our Socio-Emotional Learning curriculum is built into every day. Through stories, art, and play, children gently learn to recognise, name, and express what they feel.

Parent Worry

Will my child actually learn to read and write — not just memorise?

At Khaitan

Our Balanced Literacy Curriculum teaches children to think deeply, speak clearly, and write with meaning. Reading is taught as joy, not as a chore.

Parent Worry

I do not want my child to fear math like I did.

At Khaitan

Numeracy at KPS begins with everyday objects — counting, sorting, comparing. Children move from concrete experiences to symbols. They understand, they do not memorise.

Parent Worry

What if my child learns differently from other kids?

At Khaitan

Our team of special educators, counsellors, and therapists builds an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for each child who needs it. Our goal is integration, not isolation.

Parent Worry

Will the school keep me informed, or will I be in the dark?

At Khaitan

Parents at Khaitan are active partners — through workshops, showcases, and open communication. You will know your child's growth, every step of the way.

Head of Foundation School

A message from the head

The early years are not preparation for life. They are life — the most important chapter of it.

For me, these early years are the heart of schooling — where confidence is shaped, curiosity is sparked, and little steps turn into big milestones. Our approach blends structured literacy and numeracy with inquiry, play, and social-emotional development, ensuring that learning feels both meaningful and joyful.

— Barkha Kanwal Ma'am
